AMC 10 and 12 Testing Tuesday 9 February

Edina Center for Academic Excellence once again offers American Mathematics Competitions (AMC) testing on the AMC 10 and AMC 12 tests on Tuesday 9 February 2010 (the “A” date for both contests). AMC tests are an excellent challenge for math learners and lead to awards, opportunities for school-year and summer special programs, and a tip factor when applying to college.  Did you know that the contest is offered on two different dates (known as the “A” and “B” test date)?  Highly competitive students will often choose to test on BOTH dates, since the contest is a different version for each date, thereby conferring an extra chance of attaining a score high enough to qualify for the next level.  Some students who take the AMC 10 on one date, then elect to take the AMC 12 on the second date, again, hoping to see how well they do.

The tests will be given in Room 165 of Edina Community Center from 3:30pm to 5:00pm, and students are expected to come from all over the state.  You may register online, or print off a copy of the registration form here: amc10-12_2010_reg_form_1  and mail it in with your payment of $20.00.  Registration deadline is February 5th.  See the official  AMC FAQ for general information on the AMC testing program.
