Congratulations to the students who took the AMC 12 mathematics contest on Tuesday 9 February 2010 or on Wednesday 24 February 2010 and qualified for the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME). This year the qualifying scores on both dates for both the AMC 12 and AMC 10 were unusually low, reflecting tests that were harder than usual. But ECAE’s testing group has two students advancing to the AIME from “A” date testing, Jacob Neis (Southwest Christian High School) and Matthew Bunday (homeschooled in Minnetonka) and two students advancing to the AIME from “B” date testing, Chris Mueller (Eden Prairie High School) and Tao Wu (Mounds View High School). Congratulations to all the students who took on the challenge of this year’s tests. The other students in the ECAE testing group look set to qualify for the AIME in future years and are definitely preparing themselves for overcoming challenges.

We will make it happen.
Edina Center for Academic Excellence’s heritage is rooted in our advocacy and innovative thinking. What we propose is NOT new. What we propose is NOT difficult. What we propose is NOT readily available in the typical public or private school. Simply put, we will support your high-potential student to become the best they can possibly be without barriers to their age or grade level. If your student has the ability, if your student is willing to work hard, we will make it happen.
