ECAE Nondiscrimination Policy

Nondiscrimination Policy

Edina Center for Academic Excellence admits students of any race, color, national origin, ethnic origin, and religion to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at Edina Center for Academic Excellence. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, ethnic origin, religion, sex, disability, and other basis prohibited by law in administration of its educational policies, admission policies, scholarship and loan programs, and other center-administered programs.

Since the beginning of its programs, ECAE has provided need-based financial aid. If cost is a barrier to participating in ECAE programs, please contact ECAE for information on how to obtain partial or full waivers of class fees and other forms of financial aid. ECAE is a nonprofit organization and is founded to help all members of the community who can benefit from its services.

Edina Center for Academic Excellence offers financial aid in the form of reductions or waivers of course fees based on family financial need. ECAE guidelines for financial aid are much like those for the University of Minnesota Talented Youth Mathematics Program (UMTYMP), a program attended by children of some ECAE board members and a program that ECAE consciously tries to supplement. The family income and family size grid below shows the amount of the fee reduction for different financial need categories. The income levels referred to here are a family’s adjusted gross income (AGI) from the last line on the first page of IRS Form 1040. (Note: 100 percent financial aid means a family need not pay anything out-of-pocket to register for an ECAE class. 75 percent financial aid means the course fee would be only $62.50 for a course with a regular course fee of $250, and so on.)
